Description

Bat Brownies are a fun and easy Halloween treat that turns simple brownies into adorable bat-shaped delights. With chocolate cookie wings and candy eyes, these spooky-cute brownies are perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Brownies:

  • 1 box brownie mix (plus eggs, oil, and water as called for on the package)

Decorations:

  • 12 chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos), separated into halves
  • 24 candy eyes
  • ¼ cup melted chocolate or frosting (for “glue”)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven according to the brownie mix package instructions. Prepare the brownie batter as directed.
  2. Bake in a greased 9×13-inch pan until set, then let cool completely.
  3. Cut brownies into squares or circles. Break each cookie half into two equal pieces to form bat wings.
  4. Press two cookie wings into the sides of each brownie piece. Use melted chocolate or frosting to attach the candy eyes.
  5. Chill brownies for 10 minutes to set the decorations, then serve.

Notes

  • Let brownies cool completely before cutting.
  • If cookies break unevenly, it adds to the charm of the bats.
  • Work on parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
