Ingredients
Potatoes:
- 5 pounds Yukon gold potatoes, or Russet potatoes, peeled and cut into bite-size pieces
Additional Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 4 ounces cream cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Optional garnish: chives, chopped
Instructions
- Cook Potatoes: Place the potatoes in a large pot, cover with salted water, and boil until fork-tender, about 15 minutes.
- Drain and Mash: Drain the water, return the potatoes to the pot, add remaining ingredients, and mash to desired consistency.
- Serve: Top with chives if desired and enjoy!
Notes
- I prefer my potatoes a little chunky, but mash to your liking.
- To make ahead, prepare, refrigerate, and reheat in a slow cooker on low with milk added.
