Description

Brownie Bread is a delicious loaf of fudgy, chocolatey bread that resembles a brownie in flavor and texture but is sliced and served like bread. It’s a quick and easy treat that is sure to disappear quickly!


Ingredients

Bread:

  • 1 cup (168 g) milk chocolate chips
  • 1 ¼ cups (156 g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (59 g) Dutch-processed cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 ¼ cups (250 g) granulated sugar
  • ½ cup (109 g) vegetable oil
  • ¾ cup water

Milk Chocolate Ganache:

  • ½ cup (84 g) milk chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup (59.5 g) heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Bread: Preheat the oven and prepare the loaf pan. Melt chocolate chips and set aside. Whisk dry ingredients. Beat eggs and sugar until fluffy. Add melted chocolate, oil, and water. Gradually mix in dry ingredients. Bake until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Milk Chocolate Ganache: Place chocolate chips in a bowl. Heat cream in a saucepan until simmering, then pour over chocolate. Stir until smooth. Let the ganache cool slightly before drizzling on bread.

Notes

  • I recommend slightly underbaking the bread to keep it fudgy. Check for doneness starting at 75 minutes.
