Description

Cheesy mashed potato puff bites are the perfect comfort food! With creamy mashed potatoes, melted cheese, and a crispy exterior, these bite-sized snacks are ideal as an appetizer, side dish, or savory snack. Easy to make with minimal prep, they’re sure to become a family favorite.


Ingredients

3 cups mashed potatoes (leftover works great!)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

2 tablespoons butter, melted

2 tablespoons sour cream

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 egg (beaten)

Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)


Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, combine mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, melted butter, sour cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well.

Add the beaten egg to the mixture and mix until fully incorporated.

Use your hands or a spoon to form bite-sized puffs with the potato mixture.

Place the puffs on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the puffs are golden brown and crispy on the outside.

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, before serving.


Notes

Tip: If you’re using leftover mashed potatoes, ensure they’re thick and not too watery.

Storage: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.

Reheating: To reheat, bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes until crispy and heated through.
