Description

Ingredients

Brownie Batter:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs + 2 egg yolks
  • 8 Tbsps unsalted butter
  • 8 oz chocolate chips
  • ½ cup oil
  • 1 ¼ cups flour
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt Chocolate: In a heatproof bowl, melt the chocolate chips and butter together, either in the microwave or over a double boiler. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugars, eggs, vanilla extract, and oil until well blended.
  4. Combine Batter: Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until smooth.
  5. Add Dry Ingredients: Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt, folding gently until just combined.
  6. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Cool and Glaze: Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan. Prepare the chocolate glaze by melting additional chocolate chips and butter, then pour over the cooled brownies. Let the glaze set before slicing and serving.
