These Shrimp and Cream Cheese Wontons are crispy, creamy, and packed with shrimp, making them a delightful appetizer or snack for any occasion.
Ingredients
Wontons:
- 12 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 green onion, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- 12 wonton wrappers
- 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Dipping Sauce (optional):
- Sweet chili sauce or soy sauce
Instructions
- Chop shrimp into small chunks and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, green onion, garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil until smooth.
- Fold in chopped shrimp and mix well.
- Place a teaspoon of the mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper.
- Brush the edges with beaten egg and fold into a triangle or a pouch shape. Press to seal tightly.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry wontons in small batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2–3 minutes per side.
- Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce!
