Ingredients
Ground Beef Mixture:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1–2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 8 oz can tomato sauce
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 2 tbsp BBQ sauce
- 1½ cups shredded Colby Jack cheese
Tater Tot Layer:
- 30 oz bag Crispy Crowns or tater tots
Garnish:
- Dried parsley for garnish

- Brown the Beef & Onion: Preheat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and onion; season with salt, pepper, onion powder, and paprika. Cook until the beef is fully browned, then drain excess grease.
- Build the Sloppy Joe Sauce: Stir in garlic, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, ketchup, mustard, and BBQ sauce. Let the mixture simmer on low for a couple of minutes to blend flavors.
- Add Cheese & Tots: Sprinkle shredded Colby Jack cheese evenly over the meat mixture. Arrange the tater tots in a single layer across the top.
- Bake to Perfection: Transfer to a 400°F (200°C) oven and bake for 25 minutes, until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy, and cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish & Serve: Remove from the oven, sprinkle with dried parsley, and serve immediately.
