This Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Macaroni & Cheese recipe combines the zesty flavors of buffalo sauce with creamy, cheesy macaroni for a delicious and comforting meal.
Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 1 ½ lb chicken breast
- 2 cups chicken broth
- ½ cup buffalo wing sauce
- 1 ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp mustard powder
For the Macaroni & Cheese:
- 8 oz macaroni noodles
- 4 TB unsalted butter
- 2 TB flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup cream
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar
Instructions
- Cook the Chicken: Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker. Add chicken broth, buffalo sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and mustard powder. Cook on low for 6 hours or until chicken is tender. Shred the chicken.
- Cook the Macaroni: Cook macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Make the Cheese Sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Slowly whisk in milk and cream until smooth. Add shredded cheddar and stir until melted.
- Combine: In the slow cooker, mix cooked macaroni, shredded chicken, and cheese sauce. Stir well to combine. Cook on low for an additional 30 minutes.
