Description

A savory and quick dinner recipe featuring a delightful combination of steak, shrimp, and noodles with a burst of flavors that make it perfect for any weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Noodles:

  • 8 oz lo mein or egg noodles

Proteins:

  • 1/2 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

Vegetables:

  • 1/2 cup carrots, julienned
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Sauce and Seasoning:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil (for stir-frying)
  • Cracked black pepper & chili flakes (optional for heat)

Instructions

  1. Boil Noodles: Cook noodles until tender but still chewy. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sear Steak: Heat oil in a skillet or wok over high heat. Sear steak cubes until browned and juicy. Set aside.
  3. Cook Shrimp and Vegetables: In the same pan, add shrimp and carrots. Cook until shrimp are pink and carrots are tender-crisp.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Return steak to the pan, add garlic and noodles. Pour in soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin, sesame oil, and brown sugar. Toss until hot and glossy.
  5. Final Touches: Top with green onions and chili flakes if desired.

Notes

  • This dish is ideal for a quick weeknight dinner.
  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less chili flakes.
  • For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free noodles and soy sauce.
